Don Geller, Founder and President
Don Geller started MicroWare Computing in January 1980, as an alternative solution for high-priced, mini-computers and mainframes (popular in the late '70s). Selling and supporting Basic Four mini-computers from 1976 through 1980, Mr. Geller introduced the microcomputer (Apple & IBM PCs) to many of his clients. He was among the first to sell networking systems in the microcomputer industry in the early '80s. Novell introduced strong networking products in the mid '80s and products such as Lantastic and Microsoft Windows became popular by the end of that decade. Windows for Workgroups and Windows NT by Microsoft, as well as new versions of Novell’s NetWare in the 1990s, have seen Don Geller’s dream of microcomputer connectivity become a reality. “Now, every business can afford systems that are 10 times more powerful at one-tenth the price of systems I used to sell in the ‘80s”, says Geller, a graduate of UCLA. “How many industries can you say that about?”
